As a business hotel operating in a scenic region of the island, Voila Hotel treasures the importance of nature. We are therefore committed to protecting and restoring biodiversity though:
Eco-friendly Cleaning Practices:
To protect the terrestrial ecosystem, the hotel uses eco-friendly cleaning products that are harmless to the environment.
Flourishing Ecosystem:
Endemic and native plants such as “Bois de Chandelle” can be found in the green area of the hotel. This creates a favorable atmosphere for the ecosystem to flourish and thrive.
Wastewater treatment and repurposing:
The hotel treats and repurposes wastewater for various non-domestic applications, contributing to a more sustainable approach.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
With Mauritius facing the effects of climate change, we are convinced that embracing a circular economy is a potent way to make a change. This concept focuses on minimizing waste and making the most of resources by keeping products, materials, and resources in use for as long as possible. Instead of using, and then discarding products, we implemented the following initiatives to promote a continuous cycle of reuse, recycling, and regeneration:
- Reducing Single-Use Plastics: We have phased out single-use plastics and introduced recyclable and biodegradable alternatives. Biodegradable materials are used for straws, which are provided upon request.
- Comprehensive Waste Management: A robust waste management program is in operation, focusing on recycling paper, plastics, cartons, and glass.
- Refillable glass bottles: In our restaurants and rooms, guests are served beverages in refillable glass bottles, contributing to the reduction of single-use plastic containers.
Energy Transition
In our endeavour to fight climate change, we have established a few measures to minimise our energy consumption, and therefore be more efficient:
- Energy-Efficient LED Lights: This lighting alleviates the strain on natural resources, as we consume less electricity. These lights also contribute to a reduced environmental impact.
- Energy Star-Rates Equipment: Voila Hotel further ensures that its electrical and electronic equipment is both energy-efficient and selected based on their energy star ratings. This commitment extends to various appliances and devices, promoting sustainability across the hotel's operations.
- Green Building Design: Designed with green building characteristics maximising natural ventilation and natural light to minimize energy consumption, our approach aims to enhance overall environmental sustainability.

As part of our circular economy dynamic, contributing to inclusive development is our primary focus. To empower local communities and alleviate poverty, Voila Hotel shows its commitment to a more inclusive and egalitarian society.
